Leavenworth Washington Sports Club Gives Nordic Lessons on Ski for Health Day
Leavenworth, WA, January 2012……..The Leavenworth Winter Sports Club (LWSC) is celebrating "Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month" with their annual event called Ski for Health Day.· It takes place Sunday, January 8, 2011, at the Icicle River Nordic Trails next to Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort, in Leavenworth, Washington.
LWSC provides free ski equipment demos, lessons and trail passes from 12 to 3 p.m. Lessons and equipment for both classic and skate techniques will be available.· Local mountain shops Der Sportsmann, Leavenworth Mountain Sports and Osprey Ski Shop provide equipment and professional fitting.· Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort donates healthy snacks. Twenty-minute mini ski lessons are available as are product demos from the Northwest Mountain School and product suppliers.
Leavenworth Winter Sports Club is a non-profit established in 1928 and manages 26 kilometers of Nordic trails, a tube park and alpine ski area located at base of the operations with the historic Leavenworth Ski Hill Lodge, home to the famed Ski Jump.· For more details about this and other events visit www.SkiLeavenworth.com
