Minnesota's Wild Mountain Offers Multiple Ski and Snowboard Learning Programs During January 2012
Taylor Falls, MN; Winter, 2011–12……..Wild Mountain is participating again in the 2012 national winter program of “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month”.· The resort has a wide range of programs taught by professional instructors and geared toward all age groups, particularly those who have never skied or boarded.·
One program involved a combination of classes – some taught at a local retail shop and some on snow.
Wild Mountain programs for learning how to ski or snowboard include:
- Youth Lessons· (ages 4-12 for skiing/ 8-12 for snowboarding)
These children’s programs are offered 7 days a week throughout January at 11 am and 1 pm. The package can be either one hour or four hours. The cost is $59.00 for a one hour lesson, rental, & lift ticket ($70.00 value) and $135.00 for a four-hour lesson, rental, & lift ticket package ($144.00 value).
- Beginner Lessons· (ages 13+)
These hour long sessions covering basic skills are offered four times each day of the week. The focus is learning control of the skis or snowboard.·The lesson is $10. Lift tickets and rentals can be purchased the day of the lessons.·Lesson offered every day throughout January at 11am, 1pm, 3pm, & 5pm.
- Get Hooked on Skiing or Snowboarding· (ages 13+)
This learn to ski or snowboard package is designed to introduce students to the sports of skiing or snowboarding. Students can choose one of the daily sessions that consist of three, two-hour lessons, and include a lift ticket and equipment rental on each session day. Trained professionals teach each session. Cost is · ·$99.00.

Lessons are offered seven days a week at 10am or Fridays at 7pm.· Lessons are designed to be taken one week apart over three consecutive weeks. Participants need to start in January to qualify.

- Discover Skiing with Hi Tempo and Wild Mountain· (All ages)
Participants attend a free one-hour hour “Discover skiing” class at Hi Tempo Ski Shop in White Bear Lake. Content includes a variety of tips on dressing warmly to how to put on a ski boot. A Q and A is included. After the class, participants can schedule a Saturday afternoon lesson with the Wild Mountain Snowsports School. The package includes a Learning-Area lift ticket, rental equipment, and a 1.5 hour lesson. The cost is $10.00/person (a $56.00 value) or $25.00/family (a $224.00 value for a family of 4).

The Classroom Training at Hi Tempo Ski shop is offered on Thursday at 7pm on Jan. 5, 12, 19, and 26 and also on Saturdays at 9am on Jan. 7, 14, 21, and 28.
On-Hill lesson begins at 4:00pm. Participants should plan to·arrive by 3:00pm to check in and get lift tickets and rentals.·

- Friends and Family Day
This program is targeted to those who want to quickly learn the basics of skiing or snowboarding. It includes a lift ticket, rental equipment, and a free ”Never-ending” lesson that begins at 11am and ends at 4:30pm,for as long, or as short, a period of time as participants want to spend. The cost for Adults (13+) is
·$ 44.00 (a $78.00 value) and for children (ages 6-12) it is $ 34.00 (a $70.00 value). The package is being offered Sunday - January 15 and Sunday – January 29
